It's been at least 10 years since we couldn't buy alcohol on Sunday. The South really needs to catch up. ;-)
You can still buy it on post on Sunday, I think.
I know, Barb. There's some strong resistance to changing the laws, though.Jennie, you can get it on post, but that's a 35 minute drive for me. I wasn't desperate.
Well, at least you don't live in a dry county! We can't buy alcohol any day of the week.
True, Kristina, that would drive me nuts. But since you can't buy it, at least it's not there on the shelves taunting you, begging to be bought, only to be denied at the counter after you had pictured yourself with your feet up on the porch in the evening sun...
I was stationed in San Antonio in the 80s and before the blue laws were abolished it was awfully nice to drive by the mall on Sunday and see the parking lot empty!Back then, they would put chains (yes, chains!) around all of the items that were off-limits. Do they not do this where you live?
Robin, when I lived in Ohio, apparently over 10 years ago, they had curtains they drew over the alcohol on Sundays. Around here they do not do that in any store I have seen. They just like to tease us desperate housewives.
