OK, OK...

My mother via my sister said that I had to take tissues in to school when I was a kid, too.

But not hand sanitizer.

You are younger than me...when I was in school, hand sanitizer had not yet been invented.

I'm not THAT much younger. No hand sanitizer around when I was a kid either.

Soap. Water.

Hand sanitizer actually grosses me out. If I had germs on my hands - say from changing a stinky diaper - I would not be satisified with hand sanitizer. I feel the need to wipe the germs away either with soap and water or with a baby wipe or wash cloth.

I used to work lunchroom duty when my kids were in Catholic day school. One of the mom jobs was to "squirt" each kid's hands before entering the lunchroom from the playground (yes, play before lunch). If I had a nickle for every kid that had mud on their hands when I squirted them, I could have paid my own tuition with it. Hand sanitizer on top of mud -- now that's really clean eh?

I've never gotten into the hand sanitizer thing either. First of all it's got to be hard on the skin. And I want to WASH. I want to scrub. I want to lather up and then dry with a towel (even a paper one). At the very least, I want a baby wipe!
